Border Bizcamp is a  special business event all about businesses supporting businesses in the border region. BorderBizcamp 2013 will take place in Monaghan Town at the M:TEK Building on the Armagh Road.  Its all about learning, business links…..and lovely food!!  It’s the kind of event which last year raised the business energy of all who attended and was a really positive reflection on business people who want to succeed in a can-do, supporting environment. During the day-long event you will have a choice of speakers to listen to and learn from. Some will be there in person, and some will be utilising the advantages of modern technology and joining us by Skype from the USA.  The organising team have been hard at work searching out speakers who are at the top of their game, who will inspire and who will share 30 minutes of their expertise and excellence in business, for the benefit of others in business or those thinking of starting in business. This year we are proud to announce the first of our confirmed speakers:
Gary Vaynerchuk – co-founder and CEO of a social media brand consulting agency, video blogger, co-owner and director of operations of a wine retail store, and an author and public speaker on the subjects of social media, brand building and e-commerce joining us by Skype link. Neven Maguire – Neven trained in some of the highest profile restaurants in the world. In 2001, he took over the family business MacNean House & Restaurant in Blacklion, Co. Cavan, and turned a local restaurant into a national phenomenon.  When he is not cooking, authoring book (at least 9 so far) doing demonstrations, making TV programmes,  teaching, being a Daddy, he is constantly experimenting, re-inventing, creating,  innovating and celebrating food.  Una Fox – Una is a VP in the Walt Disney Company Corporate Technology group. Una joined Disney in 2008 and has a specific focus on online marketing technologies, Brand Management and Customer Business Intelligence.   Una hails from Dundalk and now lives in LA where she runs the LA Coder Dojo and is passionate about getting more girls into technology.George Mordaunt – George is MD of the Mordaunt Group (retail motor dealership).  During 2004 and 2007 the Mordaunt Group expanded rapidly and within 12 months of completing the expansion the entire organization started to collapse as a result of the global financial disaster.  Following the success of his first book about this challenging time, “Shepherd’s Pie”, George set up Insight a service to support business people in all aspects of their businesses. George’s second book “Back in the Driving Seat” which is described as a guide to recovery to ensure business survival, as just been released in April.
The day is shaping up really well, so to be sure of having an opportunity to hear these powerful talks book early. You can get involved in speaking too!! You can attend just to listen and learn from the expertise, experience and energy of a broad range of speakers contributing on a range of business themes…..or you can volunteer to speak yourself!  Perhaps you have an expertise in a niche area of business you can share with others, maybe you have a great story to tell about how you have grown your business or you would just like to encourage others to try something that worked well for you.  The options are endless.  If you are interested in speaking at BorderBizcamp you can indicate this interest when you register.  There are also some guidelines to speaking here.
