The Renewable Energy Business Network (REN NET) is funded through the INTERREG IVA Programme and aims to establish a network of businesses/individuals that are involved in or wish to get involved in the green economy or renewable energy sector. Together we will explore opportunities to increase the green and renewable energy sector in the North West and Cross Border region.

The project will be delivered under the auspices of the North West Region Cross Border Group and will be a collaboration of the five local authorities in the region ie Donegal, Derry, Limavady, Magherafelt and Strabane Councils. InvestNI, InterTrade Ireland, Enterprise Ireland and Donegal County Enterprise Board will provide advice to the project.

A local network of 15-20 businesses will be set up in each of the Council areas. Members will meet regularly and identify new opportunities for the green economy and renewable energy sector, receive expert advice, training and support for their business with the aim of increasing its profitability. The project will run until February 2015 allowing time to build a strong and successful network of green enterprises in the region. Local networks will also meet on a regional basis throughout the project lifetime and there will be a number of
international best practice visits.

WHO SHOULD JOIN?

Small/micro businesses (employing less than 50 people) or individuals engaged in renewable energy or the green economy or those wishing to get involved in this growing sector.

Farmers interested in diversifying into renewable energy e.g. growing energy crops. Those involved in the construction industry, contractors, plumbers, electricians, architects etc looking to gain insight into how the green industry will develop and how they can compete.
